the cage

Below is a list of main fronters who don't mind coming forward.

Our family of many... way more than you would ever (need to) know. Polyfragmented. We are together as one... separately.

Our system name is the "The Cage" which is the main area in the mobile game, NieR Reincarnation. The term also has personal meaning. But some of us would rather develop beyond our sources and become something of our own.

We don't have hosts. Instead, a small handful members circulate the "front space" at any given time. Frequent switching can make front tracking hard to keep up with, amongst other things so we're not super strict about it. Headmates may or may not want to make themselves actively known.

We are mostly organized and we communicate fairly well for what it's worth. Our communication is usually co-conscious which can also create very chaotic conversations with others. Our system is an ever-changing entity but also as the body, I am an alter. I am just about as involved as everybody else in our family.

In other words, we are the body. We are also ourselves. But don't think too hard about it... that's my job. Just call us Jay. If you're curious about some other words that we use for ourselves then here is our pronouns.cc.

While we don't mind sharing general experiences, we aren't professionals. Annnddd... here's a list of DID, OSDD, questioning resources for both systems and non-systems.

What is "level"?

A level refers to where the headmate might be "placed" in the headspace- like a chess piece on a chess board. A hierarchy. It's not a location or a role, just a label.

Think of it like a pyramid. Level 0 would be our gatekeeper (someone who watches over our entire system) and is placed at the top of the metaphorical pyramid. The concept is a work-in-progress but it helps simplify things for us.
